Our Mission
The mission of Jane Vernon Elementary School, a community that embraces all learners, is to educate, motivate and empower all students to reach their fullest potential as lifelong learners, on their path to personal excellence in this ever-changing world, through the efforts of students, staff, and families, using a challenging and integrated curriculum, in a safe and nurturing environment.
Objectives
- All students, staff, and families will fully implement a school wide behavior management initiative, in order to consistently demonstrate respectful and responsible behavior.
- All students, with the support of staff and families, will annually meet or exceed the identified district expectations at their cognitive and language ability levels in reading, writing and math.
- All students, staff and families will create a physically and emotionally safe place for teaching and learning to occur.
Tactics
- We will adopt and fully implement a school wide behavior management system, recognizing that good attendance, self control, and positive parental involvement increases learning.
- We will ensure that students, staff and families partner in necessary strategies to meet district expectations in reading, writing, and math.
- We will develop and implement plans to ensure the physical and emotional safety of everyone at Jane Vernon Elementary.
